Extracurricular activities at Laerskool Bergland are seen as education for learners. Our aim is to involve as many learners as possible and offer the opportunity to participate in our variety of sports.

At Laerskool Bergland, children are given a chance to develop their talents and skills. A love for the sport is cultivated by learning the rules and principles of the sport in an enjoyable way.
By ons skool word daar duidelik onderskeid getref tussen sportbeoefening in die junior- en seniorfase. In die juniorfase word daar veral aandag gegee aan die ontwikkeling van vaardighede. Geleentheid vir massa-deelname word geskep. Ons wil graag aan elke leerder die geleentheid bied om betrokke te raak by die aktiwiteite van die skool.
Sport vorm ‘n belangrike en integrale deel van die kurrikulum van Laerskool Bergland. Dit dra by tot die geheelontwikkeling van leerders. Die ontwikkeling van die kind se motoriese vaardighede op laerskoolvlak word wêreldwyd beskou as essensieël in die totale ontwikkeling van die kind.

By Laerskool Bergland is atletiek ‘n sport wat ‘n verskeidenheid geleenthede bied vir leerders om hul potensiaal ten volle te benut. With items that include different variations of speed, power, endurance and resilience, any child can become involved. Hier is harde werk en die ontwikkeling van elke atleet die boustene van sukses. Motivering, saamwerk, saamgroei en saamdroom maak dat die atletiekspan met finesse gedryf word. Athletics teaches a learner persistence, perseverance and self-discipline in order to promote physical development.

We at Laerskool Bergland strive to create an environment where boys can go onto the rugby field and express themselves. Ons doel as ‘n skool en afrigters is om almal ‘n geleentheid te gee om deel te wees van ‘n span. Waar lewensvaardighede aangeleer kan word en nie net sportvaardighede nie. Most importantly we would like the boys to enjoy the sport and create everlasting friendships.
Ons is opgewonde vir die seisoen wat voorlê.

By Laerskool Bergland streef ons daarna om vir almal ‘n liefde vir netbal te kweek. Our aim at the school is to make it possible for every girl to be part of a team. Dogters leer die nodige vaardighede en tegniek aan, maar ons fokus ook op etiek en regverdige spel. Above all, we want the girls to enjoy netball and develop a lifelong love for the sport.

Daarom leer ons om spanmaats aan te moedig om hulle eie potensiaal te bereik.
Goeie boulers kweek goeie kolwers en goeie kolwers kweek goeie boulers en hoe beter elke individu word, hoe beter word die span.
By Bergland wil ons graag elke speler ontwikkel tot sy volle potensiaal om goeie resultate as span te hê.

Ons skaakspelers kan dwarsdeur die jaar by ons skaaklesse inskakel en aan kompetisies deelneem. A very competent outside coach, coaches our rising chess stars. Our teams participate regularly and with great success in various championships.
